Exchange rates change from minute to minute and banks use different rates when
converting to or from your local currency. Credit card companies also may add a percentage to the market rate.
The calculator uses the same rate for conversions both to and from each currency and
are only updated once a day. The results given by the converter are only intended to be indicative and can easily be several
percentage points different from the rate actually used to charge your card account.
If you are purchasing a high priced item where the exchange rate difference could be
significant please check with your bank.

It is available for free use by any Internet site that satisfies taste and decency criteria. Textor Webmasters Ltd normally
updates the exchange rates in the converter daily. But because the script is called from our server every time it runs you don't
need to touch your web site once the html has been included.
The converter comes in two flavours
- A general purpose tool where you type in the amount to be converted, dial up the two currencies and the equivalent in the
second currency is calculated.
- A special calculator to convert a fixed amount (such as the price of a product) into any other currency. You can set it
up so that by default the visitor initially sees any currency you choose, so that a British site can for example always have the US
Dollar price on the page automatically updated. Other visitors can of course select any currency they want. Just dial up the
currency and the amount is worked out.
The General Purpose Converter
Here is the first flavour. The full converter drops into the page as block which is roughly the size of a banner ad.
You must have Netscape 3 or IE4 or better for this to work.
The Special Currency Converter
Here is the second flavour. This converts a fixed quantity into the visitors currency of choice. It can be pre-set to
convert into any currency as a starting position. For example the following converts a fixed British Pound amount, and the visitor
sees the US Dollar equivalent as a default.

Your credit card will be charged in your local currency. Netscape 3, and Explorer 4 users can estimate this amount using the
following currency converter.
Include the converter on your site
If you want to include the calculator on your site you need to do three things:
- Read and accept the conditions of use. Click here to link to the conditions page. You must include a statement that your site accepts these conditions in your
html or the converter will not work for you.
- Cut and paste some html into your site wherever you want the calculator to appear. This html is described
here. Note that you can only have one
calculator per page. Also note that it will only be visible to visitors with Netscape 3, Explorer 4 or better. So design your page
so that it looks OK without the calculator appearing in it.
